Grandpa’s got himself a new black eye

Last night Aimee and I went to Marymoor Park to see Collective Soul, Blues Traveler and (the whole reason I bought the tickets) Live! We had fantastic seats, eight rows from stage so that I could drool good and proper over the rhythm guitarist of Collective Soul (who I wanted to do dirty, dirty things too) and of course the lead signer of Live… He still has an amazing body! Holy smokes!!!

Here's what I learned from last night ...

There is a time and a place to throw up the metal hands. That place and that time is not during a Blues Traveler set… People please, fingers folded into the metal stance or "devil horns" is not the universal sign of music. These "flailing digits" should be saved for bands like Metallica, Korn, and some Pearl Jam sets.

There is also a time and place for a moshpit fist fight. Once again that time is not during a Blues Traveler set. And furthermore, it is NOT okay that this fight takes place between a guy who looks to be about 60 and a young buck of 25… I bet young buck feels really good this afternoon after giving gramps a black eye, which was swollen and bleeding as a group of guys pulled the old guy from the death grip of said young man. Manners people, manners and remember to respect your elders.

It’s always good times when Aimee & Christy are on the town. Just wait for the Hawaii stories, they are sure to be extra special.
