A NEW goal and it’s a dozy!

Last night I saw Intiman’s production of Othello and all I can I say is – BRAVO Intiman, BRAVO! This play made me remember how much I love Shakespeare. I used to live and breath it when I was a member of the Shakespeare in the Parking Lot acting troupe. I’ve been in numerous productions, but what I’m finding is that I have not seen many of them on stage, as they should be seen…

So I’m taking a page out of Brynn’s husbands play book where he tried to do 8 marathons in ’o8. My goal and it’s a loft one is this – from August 2009 to August 2010 I’m going to see as many of Shakespeare’s 37 plays that I have yet to see on stage... That means street performances, high school productions and festivals galore. Beware my friends because as you know being my friend means I inflict culture on you, more than you ever wanted or needed in your life. And if you see a Shakespeare play advertised, pass it on to yours truly.

The Plays:
Henry IV, Part I
Henry IV, Part II
Henry V
Henry VI, Part I
Henry VI, Part II
Henry VI, Part III
Richard II
Richard III
The Comedy of Errors
Titus Andronicus
Taming of the Shrew
The Two Gentlemen of Verona
Love's Labour's Lost
Romeo and Juliet (saw in 2005)
A Midsummer Night's Dream
King John
The Merchant of Venice
Love's Labour's Won
Julius Caesar
Much Ado About Nothing
As You Like It
The Merry Wives of Windsor
Hamlet
Twelfth Night
Troilus and Cressida
All's Well That Ends Well
Othello (saw 8/4/09)
King Lear
Macbeth

Antony and Cleopatra
Coriolanus
Timon of Athens
Pericles Prince of Tyre
Cymbeline
The Winter's Tale
The Tempest

Wish me luck!

  1. He will be honored, and just in case it helps, he only did 7 of 8, but I'm still impressed. (His best friend decided to do 9 marathons in 09 and it looks like he's going to do it. Chris is slightly ticked.) Count me in for 1 if you want company!
