Christine said it best ... We're idiots, soaking wet idiots!

Last night was our annual haunted hayride. For the past three, or is four, years now a bunch of us girls get together to pretty much stand in line for hours to take a 15 minute truck ride through a haunted forest in Puyallup. The wait is never worth it, but it's  a tradition and traditions are to be upheld, rain or shine. Sadly this year we were down a member as one of the Blondes got into a car accident on her way to meet the rest of us for dinner. She's okay, but her car has some unfixable ouches

After dinner we all noticed a few drops of rain beginning to fall, nothing serious but enough to make a smart person wonder (no worries here though because us gals left our brain in our other purses).

The first thirty or so minutes in line were a breeze. No rain, a little wind as well as Mandy and Danielle almost pushing me down in order to get away from the teenager dressed up like Chucky, but a breeze n one the less. So as the rain started we put on our hoods and stood there, and we stood there and the rain started coming down harder, and we stood there and the rain didn't stop, and we stood there.

I was miserable and made my feelings known, but we had waited too long to leave and we were already soaked, heck we couldn't actually get any wetter, or could we? Needless to say we actually could get wetter and my dripping wet jeans that are currently hanging in my shower dripping prove that!

Finally the ride started and let me say this -  sitting on hay bales is never fun, wet hay bales, yeah even worse... And the rain was still coming down and now the parts of me that were once dry are soaked. The hayride was even lamer than usually with some of the actors abandoning their post due to the rain. A haunted set without a haunting you might say. I couldn't see a damn thing because my hood acted like horse blinders and so by the time I'd turn my head to see what was happening on the right the actors had moved to the left.

We are idiots, but man we have fun together and the stories, well the stories they live on forever ...
