Well there you have it folks – winter storm 20007 season is here and the weathermen are geared up for the big one. They have all angles covered from the very tip-top of the highest Washington Mountain to the parking lot of the local 7-Eleven. Where ever there is snow, rain, wind or hail they’ll be there. Good for them. Of course I believe they cause unnecessary panic because people are too stupid to pay attention to what is being said and instantly think their home will flood even if it’s on the top of a hill. But what does my opinion count for anyway?
My favorite storm moment came not from the weathermen or the fact that the freeway home was totally clear because everyone hightailed it home early fearing the worst – but it came when I witnessed a crazy lady – decked out in a short sleeve shirt and jeans who despite the rain and wind felt the need to dance on the corner of second and union – singing along to whatever song her walkman was playing. It was awesome. I beeped and gave her the thumbs up, I’m sure people were thinking “don’t encourage her!” But all I could think was “You live it up crazy lady, because life is too damn short to worry what people think.”
