I’m getting excited about going to Italy. I mean I can barely sleep because my excitement level is so high. I feel like a little kid sometimes, bouncing around the house like a dipshit all happy and stuff. I’ve even started to pack, and unpack, and pack again making sure I take enough clothes to be comfortable, but not too much that I can’t fit all the stuff I plan on buying in Italy in my suitcase home. I even borrowed a bigger suitcase from my parents to assure that I can bring home some loot.
I wish we had planned to stay longer, but we’re booking tours so as not to have to worry about missing something important. We are going to be wiped out when we get home, but I want to soak in as much as possible while overseas. I haven’t traveled out of the country for a while now. Honestly I think the last time I was on foreign soil was when I was 18 and living in Japan. Well I’ve been to Canada, but that so doesn't really count, does it. I’ve made a promise to myself – throw caution to the wind - and I plan to stick to that.
When I get back I’ll be taking on a whole new chapter of my life. I’ll be starting a new job with the Seattle Symphony. It’s funny how sometimes life moves at this snails pace and other times it moves so fast that your head spins. It's a crazy ride!
