According to Wiki … A nerd is a derogatory connotation that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities, or other obscure interests rather than popular activities. And the word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as "a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with electronics. Dork didn’t come up with any real definition other than Australian fishes and things like that.
So what am I? I abhor video games because I think that they rip away children’s ability to enjoy the outdoors. YET, I like reality shows that show shanky women via for the affection of some washed out rocker, therefore ripping away my free time, which I could be using to enjoy the outdoors.
I love, love, love BSG and am even going to ComiCon so that I can watch the actors panel discussion. YET, I wouldn’t talk to my ex for weeks after he tricked me into going to a Comic Book Fair.
I hate that technology has ripped away our souls – moving us all to meet potential mates, and communicate via phones, computers and programs rather than enjoying each other in person. YET, I check my Facebook page three to four times a day and have a blog and twitter account.
So what am I? Am I a dork, a geek, or a nerd? Or am I simply a contradiction?
