Sometimes the stupidly of people truly astounds me. Like when I was listening to the radio and a DJ was giving her spill of why everyone should be a vegetarian. According to this brain surgeon if people didn’t eat cows then land would be freed up for crops instead of cattle raising as well as a gas reduction because there would be no cows and therefore no more cow farts. Just a point of clarification, if we stopped eating the cows that doesn’t mean they disappear, unless you’re also planning a mass extermination of Mister and Mrs Cow.
Then there was the argument I had over the weekend when someone (who will remain nameless) tried to tell me that Shakespeare writes the most beautiful love stories… What the hell are you talking about dumbass? Which one is so beautiful? Is it when Romeo and Juliet die at 13? Is it when Othello strangles Desdemona? Is it when Lady Macbeth convinces her husband to commit murder and then freaks out and kills herself? Is it when Ophelia goes crazy because Hamlet took her virtue and then spurned her until her only option is to drown herself? Even his “comedies” have horrific love components. In Midsummer’s Nights Dream it’s the “magic” of a spiteful fairy king that sends everyone into mismatched love pairs…
I hate it when people talk like they know something and are all cocky about it. When I don’t know something I keep my mouth shut.
